The Great Falls man who admitted to setting his own house on fire after a standoff with police last year was back in court Wednesday. 40-year-old James Messick is charged with violating the terms of his probation.

Messick pleaded guilty to arson and criminal endangerment after the incident at his home in May of 2008, during which he fired more than 40 shots at police and set the house on fire before tyring to escape.

During his sentencing in January, Messick's estranged wife said he was suicidal over marital and business problems.

Messick's bond was set at $20,000.
