Woman Murdered In Fort Benton: Suspect in Hospital

One woman is confirmed dead, and a man is receiving treatment for injuries, following a shooting in Fort Benton. Fort Benton Police say it is likely a murder, then attempted suicide.

Officers responded to a 911 call about 5 p.m. yesterday at 1909 Choteau Street, to discover a deceased female, and an injured male.

A Fort Benton Police official told News Channel 5 that they believe the man murdered the woman with a gun, then attempted suicide.

The suspect is currently receiving medical treatment in a Seattle hospital.

Police say more information will become available pending an autopsy and further investigation.
