Macy's to Close Downtown Missoula Store

One of the three Macy's stores in Montana will be closing its doors for good.

Macy's Inc. announced Tuesday it's closing its downtown Missoula location. The company is also shutting down four other stores located across the country. Macy's says this is part of an ongoing annual process to close underperforming locations while opening new stores in other cities.

Currently, 55 people are employed at the Missoula store. The company says final clearance sales will begin Sunday and run for approximately 60 days.

The other locations being closed include Boise, Idaho; Waterford, Mmichigan; St. Ann, Missouri - and Burlington, New Jersey.

Here in Montana, the Macy's stores in Helena and Bozeman will remain open.
