Great Falls Fire Rescue Investigating Downtown Apartment Fire That Left 10 People Homeless

By KFBB News Team

Great Falls Fire Rescue is investigating a downtown apartment fire on Saturday that left about ten people homeless. The fire broke out a little after 9:00 PM Saturday night at 612 Second Avenue South.

Crews say their firefighting efforts were complicated after they had a difficult time getting some people out of the building because they wanted to stay behind and grab their belongings. One man had to be taken to Benefis but was released from the hospital Sunday afternoon.

It took fire crews about 20 minutes to knock down the flames but they remained on scene until midnight Saturday night putting out hot spots. Great Falls Fire Rescue is hoping to release a report on the cause of the fire sometime over the next few days.

That same apt. bldg.had a fire in 2005 Brandy Powells apt itself blew upbecause she was running a meth lab in it. Now it's destroyed again. That's a shame.I hope all the resedants are fine and have warm homes to go to.
