MANG and Air Force Helps Deliver Supplies to Haiti

By KFBB News Team

CHARLESTON, S.C. - For the first time in its history, members of the Montana Air National Guard are being asked to help in an international relief effort.

Nine of Montana's airmen are down in Charleston, South Carolina, helping with operation: Unified Response. It's a mission to try to get much-needed supplies into Haiti. They're using C-17 planes to get food, water, medical supplies, and even fire trucks into Haiti. The C-17 is large enough to carry two fire trucks.

Since the operation began, the Air Force base has seen a large influx of activity. That's why they called Montana's airmen to help.

Montana's crew is doing everything from working in the gym to helping put food together for the crews going into Haiti.
