Glacier National Park Officials Say Bear Tracks Mean Spring is Here

By KFBB News Team

Glacier National Park officials say they now have a sure sign that spring is almost here. Bear tracks have been found in several parts of the park.

Since the beginning of the month, there have been three separate sightings of bear tracks throughout the park, at Belly Creek, Many Glacier, and Lake McDonald.

Park officials say visitors are reminded to be alert for bear activity and to be familiar with and comply with safety regulations. They also say that even though a new federal law allows people to carry loaded firearms in national parks, that they should be used as a last resort against a bear.

They say bear spray is still the best bet, and recommend having some at all times when inside Glacier National Park limits.
