The man believed to be responsible for Wednesday's early morning car crash made his initial appearance in court Thursday.

24 year old Wesley Capps faces two counts of felony vehicular assault, along with charges for reckless driving and running a stoplight.

According to court documents, Capps was driving between 60 to 70 mph when he ran a red light at the intersection of 15th Street North and 8th Avenue, and collided with a mini-van. The driver of the van was ejected, and according to court testimony, he sustained life-threatening injuries.

Reports indicate Capps' blood alcohol level was .15 after the crash. He also has a previous DUI and a list of other traffic offenses. Capps is being held on a $50,000 bond.
