Montana Man Rescued After Being Stranded for Days

By The Associated Press

HELENA, Mont. - A Montana man who spent four days stranded in his car on a remote mountain road is thanking everyone involved in his rescue.

Louis Rogers says he's grateful for his rescuers and the more than 200 friends and family who searched for him over the weekend.

The country musician, who has played guitar for big names such as Merle Haggard, was driving from Montana's Flathead region to Calder, Idaho when his car got stuck in a snowbank Thursday.

Rogers has health issues, including diabetes, so he decided to wait for help. He says he had written a goodbye letter when a couple in a four-wheel drive found him two days ago.

The 67-year-old didn't require hospitalization and felt better after getting something to eat. His sister Iva Mather says she's thrilled he's safe, but called the experience a "nightmare."
