Great Falls Man Donates Prototype Ski Cart

By KFBB News Team

A Great Falls man is donating a prototype ski cart to a disability adventure camp in Colorado.
Robert Malcomb works at Pacific Steel and Recycling--and knowing how to weld--was inspired to help out the camp that his father visits every year.
Robert's father is a disabled veteran who travels to Colorado every year for the Challenge Aspen program, using a sitting ski on Snow Mass Mountain.
Current technology allows a very limited number of sitting skis to make it to the top of the mountain at once, as i'ts incredibly difficult to get the ski on a lift.
Robert's design allows the sitting ski to be easily loaded onto a gondola, providing more opportunity for members of the Challenge Aspen program.
The first four carts will be heading to Colorado on Sunday, and after being tested, Robert will make any necessary changes to the model before donating even more.
After learning of Robert's generous donation plan, Pacific Steel and Recycling offered to pay for the building materials.
