Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana's CEO Announces Retirement

After 36 years of service, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana’s CEO announced her plans today to retire.

Chief Executive Officer for the not-for profit insurance company, Sherry Cladouhos, will be leaving Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana before the end of the year.

The organization's Board of Directors has named Mike Frank, who currently serves as president and has been with the company for eleven years, to take over Cladouhos's position.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana currently serves over 250,000 people and has been serving Montanans for 70 years. She says she is looking forward to spending time with family.

Cladouhos says her biggest accomplishment is the financial strength of the company.

“Employees are like family to you, and I’ll always consider them family, so you're leaving a family and plus leaving a legacy of a company that's been around in Montana for 70 years and we bring a lot to the economy and we take care of Montanans,” says Cladouhos.

Frank adds “it's a great opportunity, we have a strong foundation of 70 years and also under Sherry's leadership and it's my goal to continue that foundation and to make sure we have a smooth transition for our employees, for our groups, for our providers and for all of Montana.”

Cladouhos says she will remain active as the Chair of the Board of the Montana Chamber of Commerce and maintain other roles within the Helena community.
