Browning Man Dies after Altercations in Glacier National Park

By The Associated Press

WEST GLACIER, Mont. - Officials at Glacier National Park are investigating the death of a 30-year-old Browning man in the southeast part of the park.

Park spokeswoman Amy Vanderbilt says Clinton Croff was reportedly involved in altercations near road construction traffic on the road into the Two Medicine Valley Thursday morning. National Park rangers responded and found Croff combative and suffering from multiple wounds.

Rangers detained Croff and began emergency medical treatment. Croff collapsed and CPR was administered. He was pronounced dead
when the ALERT air ambulance helicopter arrived at about 11:30 a.m.

Park officials would not say what kind of altercation Croff was involved in or what injuries he suffered. Vanderbilt said Friday that no one was in custody in connection with the death.

An autopsy was planned Friday at the state crime lab in Missoula.
