Butte Justice of the Peace Charged With 12 Felonies For Fraudulently Obtaining Methadone

A Butte Justice of the Peace, once appointed to oversee a new DUI court, has been charged with twelve felony counts of fraudulently obtaining dangerous drugs.

Authorities say Robert "Bob" E. Lee doctor shopped to get multiple prescriptions for the painkiller methadone he was charged Friday in anaconda district court.

In a separate case, Lee pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of negligent endangerment after being accused of driving to the courthouse while under the influence of methadone.

On Friday he was sentences in Butte district court to a one year deferred sentence, meaning he could avoid incarceration if he didn't have additional legal trouble.
