Caughey Makes Court Appearance, Trial Scheduled Soon

The man accused of hitting a 21-year-old woman with his vehicle along Fox Farm Road last summer made his first appearance in Cascade County court in almost a year.

Jason Caughey, 39, was originally charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury and vehicular homicide while under the influence, with an alternate charge of negligent homicide.

Caughey has been living in Minnesota with his family since posting a $200,000 bond after turning himself in.

Thursday the state amended that second charge to criminal endangerment, and Caughey pleaded not guilty.

His attorney also filed several pre-trial motions, including a motion to dismiss the charges due to a lack of probable cause. Judge McKittrick denied that motion.

Both sides agreed that the defense will make any further objections they have during trial. That trial is scheduled to begin September 20th.

he wll get no jail cause he is not an indian and our courts are crooked
