Couple Biking 10,000 Miles to Raise Money for Charity

By KFBB News Team

A British couple biking 10,000 miles to raise money for charity is in Great Falls today. The Thomas's are raising money for Shelter Box, a charity that provides disaster relief. Each box contains a tent and enough necessities for ten people. The charity gets almost half of its funding from international Rotary Clubs.

The couple started biking in Vancouver in early August and hopes to make it to Florida by Christmas. Then, they will travel to New Zealand and Australia before wrapping up their trip in Europe.

Since Shelter Box is headquartered in their hometown in England, they got involved early on. “I went to Pakistan following a cyclone in 2007. It was a really interesting time; it had a huge impact on me. Since then, I've been determined to spread the word of Shelter Box,” Carolyn Thomas says.

The cyclists plan to get to Helena by Monday for their next event. If you would like to donate to Shelter Box visit http://www.shelterboxusa.org/
