Democrats Bring Jobs Tour to Capitol City

Some Democratic lawmakers met in Helena this morning to continue their Business and Jobs Listening Tour.

Helena is the 11th stop on the tour.

The goal is to find out what's working, and what's not working in the Treasure State.

With a focus on jobs and job creation, lawmakers listened to locals voice their concerns.

Some of the most common issues included support for wage and funding issues, as well as high tuition costs.

Many expressed a need for educational opportunities to increase and for the state's educational system to get more help during the next Legislative Session.

Tony Belcourt, (D) House District 32 says, “I think it’s key that we continue on the success that we’ve started and honor Montana cities. I think that’s the key to representation of the government is going out to the cities and understanding what their needs are for the Legislative process.”

Legislators are scheduled to make 3 more stops in western Montana.
