Judge Blocks Parts of Arizona Immigration Law

By The Associated Press

PHOENIX - A judge has blocked the most controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law from taking effect Thursday, handing a major legal victory to opponents of the crackdown.

The law will still take effect Thursday, but without many of the provisions that angered opponents - including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws. The judge also put on hold a part of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton put those controversial sections on hold until the courts resolve the issues.

Opponents say the law will lead to racial profiling and is trumped by federal immigration law.

Most "whites" came to this country "Legally". From Europe, and other countries. That's not what the Mexican, Cuban's,ect are doing here.I do agree that people are getting lazy tho. They want great pay to do little or nothing. It doesn't work that way. I would give any thing for a job. I'm quilfied and schooled(not too much)but people who advertize that they have jobs avaiable just don't get off their duffs to hire the person who really wants to work.Or has a family to support. If your here legally, so be it you have the right to compete for the job. If not, step aside and get out.Come back when u can do it legal.

A couple of weeks ago the supreme court said states have gun rights 5-4, really we have them, 5-4 is scary at the very least. Now we have to ignore and pay for people in this country illegaly? Wake up people, we are losing our country.

The sad reality is they do the jobs that white people are "above". White people are getting lazier and lazier. If mexicans love this country so much and want to be a part of it, then they can defend it. Make them join the army, navy, air force, etc.......Then we can consider them to be a part of this country. And Michelle, what happened 200 years ago doesn't really hold water today. With your reasoning, England should still be in charge?????

Must be a democratic judge we must have money to burn to support the illegal aliens in this country. That is exactly what is wrong with this country if you want to live here follow the rules.

Im glad she decided that. The law is full of racism. Tell me, are they going to ask a white person for papers because they are suspected of being illegal immigrants from Europe? I dont think so! thye will be doing racial profiling for brown people. Total discrimination. And also, just to remind people, Arizona, Texas, California, New Mexico and other states belonged to Mexico before the whites too over! so tell me who should really leave this country? Pretty easy to forget that part of history huh? Ignorance is the real problem in this country.
