Medical Marijuana Overhaul Set to Become Law, DPHHS Says They'll Keep Issuing Cards

By KFBB News Team

The Medical Marijuana Overhaul bill is set to become law at midnight but state health officials say they won’t be cooperating, even if Governor Brian Schweitzer lets that happen.

They say they’ll keep issuing medical marijuana cards; something bill sponsor, Senator Jeff Essmann, says should stop as of this Saturday.

The overhaul limits who can be a patient and who can be a provider, and immediately repeals the Department of Public Health and Human Services authority to register patients.

But department spokesman Jon Ebelt says the bill is unclear, saying the agency will continue issuing cards until June 20th.

In thee beginning they jailed us, pushed us into the darkest shadows and the blackest alleys with their lies and miss quotes of information. From the darkest shadows and the blackest alleys they come First there was a few then there was many. They have been watching and learning from the darkness. The mistakes of the sixties and seventy will not be repeated. Learn their system and laws we do. To use it against them. The lies revealed and truth to prevail.
