More Details Released About Weekend Murder-Suicide

By KFBB News Team

Great Falls Police have released more details about last Saturday’s murder-suicide.

According to a police press release, the suspect, John Lesh stabbed his long-time girlfriend to death. She was identified as Connie Popham.

The report says Lesh also shot into his neighbors home, grazing one person while the second occupant was able to get out of the way.

Police say Lesh and those neighbors had previous altercations.

Associates of Lesh told authorities Lesh called them saying he had stabbed Popham and planned to commit suicide.

First responders found Lesh dead on the porch with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say about 19 patrol officers and detectives were involved with this case.
