More Montanans Expected to Hit the Road This Weekend

By KFBB News Team

A new report shows that Montanans will be traveling more this holiday weekend.

AAA reports that travel in our region will show a 10.7% increase over the Labor Day holiday.

Nationwide it is estimated that 34.4 million people will be traveling this weekend, taking a trip at least 50 miles from home.

Despite a slight increase in fuel prices, AAA says consumers are more confident in the economy and therefore more willing to travel.

Many travelers in our region choose to travel by car. More than two million people are estimated to travel through the mountain region this weekend.
