PSC agrees to $99K fine for Electric City Power

By KFBB News Team

Electric City Power is still looking at a pretty hefty fine tonight, although the Public Service Commission has agreed to a reduced fee for the city's utility arm.

Electric City Power was fined for failing to buy renewable energy credits in 2010.

The reduced fine will now be $99,120, which is down from the originally proposed $132,230.

City Manager Greg Doyon says the money will probably be taken from other city funds. As of the end of January, Electric City Power was $5.4 million in the red and losing customers.
