Woman Charged with Criminal Endangerment, Drug Offense

The Department of Family services removed three children from what they call "deplorable" conditions after their mother was arrested on drug charges.

Tera Smith, 36, is accused of trying to sell her child's ADHD medication to an undercover officer.

Court documents say she admitted to selling the schedule two narcotic.

DFS was called in on this case, and found Smith's three children living in a basement apartment that smelled of urine and was full of debris, dirty clothing and cat feces.

The children told officials they often heard a rat moving around in the walls.

She is charged with endangering the welfare of children and criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute. Her bond was set a $5,000, and for now, she is not allowed to see her children without DFS approval.
