Governor and First Lady Vote Absentee

By KFBB News Team

Election day may be Tuesday but Governor Schweitzer and the First Lady turned their ballots in early today, The Governor and his wife, Nancy voted absentee this morning.

Absentee voting began on October fourth, and over 10,400 absentee ballots have been sent out in Lewis and Clark County for this year's General Election.

Schweitzer says “if you believe in the future then you should vote, and I’ll tell you what, if you don't vote don't complain. The people who vote that gives them a license to complain, that gives them an opportunity to say I disagree with the way our government's being run. But if you don't vote, if you stay home you've got no room to complain.”

All ballots cast absentee are counted and opened on Election Day and the Governor said he wanted to make sure his vote was counted in case anything came up on Tuesday (when he’s planning to make an elk hunting trip.)

Registration for absentee voting closes Monday at noon and state workers have Tuesday, November 2nd off to ensure they have time to vote.
