By KFBB News Team

Russia's entry into the World Trade Organization could have positive impacts for Montana's Cattle Industry.

Senator Max Baucus met with Russia's president today in Moscow to promote Montana Beef and other goods. Senator Baucus also met with other top russian officials. He says the country's entry into the W.T.O. means good things for American exports, "I'm looking for ways for Montanans to sell more products into Russia. There's something called the World Trade Agreement that's coming up that will really help America generally, and when that happens there'll be opportunities for Montanans as well."

American exports to Russia are expected to double to 19-billion dollars within five years after Russia joins the W.T.O. However, Congress must first pass legislation granting the nation permanent trade status.
