Miles City man claims $200K Powerball prize

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana Lottery officials say a Miles City man has claimed a $200,000 Powerball prize just before the deadline to redeem the ticket.

Don Rhoads bought his winning ticket for the March 13 drawing at M & H Gas in Miles City. He had until Sept. 13 to redeem the ticket and claimed the prize Friday.

The winners of two other large prizes from the March 31 Powerball drawing have until Sept. 30 to redeem their tickets. A ticket sold at the Town Pump in Shelby won $200,000 while a ticket sold at Mountain View Co-op in Fairfield won $50,000 in the same drawing.

Lottery prizes must be claimed within six months of the drawing, otherwise the prize money is transferred to the state general fund.
