$1.4 Million For GE

BILLINGS - The Montana Department of Commerce awards the General Electric project in Billings $1.4 million dollars.

The money is from the Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund and Workforce Training Grant Funds. GE will use $1million to hire and train 200 employees in the next two years. Over $300,000 will be used to buy equipment.

GE will still pay nearly $8 million to hire and train new employees. Since 2006, work force training grants have ranged from $8,000-to-$2 million dollars.
