HELENA - A committee for a group that wants to see 25% of the nation's energy use to come from renewable resources by 2025 is scheduled to meet in Montana.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer says the National Steering Committee for 25x25 Alliance will meet in north-central Montana on July 8-9. The alliance is made up of over 700 agricultural, forestry, conservation, environmental organizations and leaders working to help the nation improve energy security.

The 25x25 leaders will host a roundtable in Great Falls with those interested in advancing renewable energy production on July 8. On July 9, the committee will visit the biodiesel testing lab at Montana State-Northern in Havre and the Earl Fisher BioFuels plant in Chester.
