Great Falls man dies in motorcycle crash

By The Associated Press

GREAT FALLS - A 46-year-old Great Falls man has died in a motorcycle crash on Old U.S. Highway 191 between Great Falls and Helena.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was southbound in the Dearborn area Tuesday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle entering a curve and crashed. Trooper Philip Freed says it appeared Ross Heikkila had tried to avoid hitting something.

He was thrown about 10 feet from his motorcycle and died at the scene of head injuries. Freed said Heikkila was wearing a helmet.
