1 dead after crash in Missoula County

MISSOULA - The Missoula County Sheriff's Department says a 46-year-old man is dead, following the head-on collision of a car and a pickup truck in East Missoula.

Deputy Sheriff Joe McNeill says an icy and slushy road contributed the crash, which happened Monday at about 5:45 p.m. on East Missoula's Brickyard Hill.

McNeill says the pickup veered into a lane of oncoming traffic and collided with the car. The driver of the pickup died at a Missoula hospital. McNeill says the man was not using a seat belt.
