HELENA - A fugitive from Texas was arrested Thursday in East Helena. U.S. Marshal Dwight Mackay says 31-year-old Ryan Richard was arrested on a warrant from Denton County, Texas, charging him with felony possession of explosive components.

Mackay says the marshals' Montana Violent Offender Task Force was notified that Richard might be in the Helena area staying with his sister. A deputy U.S. marshal, accompanied by officers of the East Helena police and Lewis and Clark County sheriff's office went to the sister's residence. Richard answered the door when the officers knocked and he was taken into custody.

Richard was taken to the Lewis and Clerk County Jail in Helena to await an appearance in court. Additional information about the charges was not available Thursday evening.
