MISSOULA - The Missoula County Sheriff's Department is investigating after rafters found a body in the Clark Fork River.

Authorities spent more than six hours recovering the adult man's body Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Mike McMeekin says the man has not yet been identified, but he is checking into a missing person report from out-of-state.

The rafters called emergency crews after spotting the body at about 1 p.m. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.

Foul play is not suspected.
