GREAT FALLS - The Montana Highway Patrol says a woman killed in Great Falls early Wednesday was the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

The patrol says the woman was struck by two cars. Troopers say the first car hit the victim and kept going, and the second car struck her body while it lay in the street.

The patrol says it happened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday on Fox Farm Road on the southwest side of Great Falls. Authorities are still looking for the driver of the first vehicle. The second driver stopped and called 911.

The victim's name was withheld, pending notification of her family.
