Woman killed, motorcycle collides with semi

BILLINGS - The Montana Highway Patrol says a Pennsylvania woman was a killed and her husband critically injured when their motorcycle was struck by a semi tractor-trailer in Billings.

The crash happened at about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Trooper Jason Grover says the Pennsylvania couple were riding their motorcycle in a straight line behind two other motorcycles when they pulled over in an attempt to make a U-turn. An approaching semi struck the motorcycle from behind.

The 66-year-old woman died at the scene. The 69-year-old man was airlifted to St. Vincent Health Care and was listed in critical condition. Both were wearing helmets. Their names were not released.

Grover says the investigation continues and no citations have been issued.
