GREAT FALLS - Invenergy's Judith Gap wind farm has donated two damaged turbine blades to the Montana State University-Great Falls College of Technology.

The 122-foot-long blades will be used for the college's newly approved wind energy technician program. Wind Montana project manager Mel Lehman says a lightning strike disabled one of the turbines at the Judith Gap wind farm two weeks ago. That's when Invenergy officials asked Lehman if they could donate the 6.5-ton blades to the school.

Lehman says one of the blades will be used for education purposes, and the other will be placed on display.
