MISSOULA - The Bureau of Land Management reports that someone stole an antique cash register from the visitor center at the Garnet Ghost Town near Missoula.

The metal register is about 90 years old and has a wood base and drawer. The agency says the theft from the tourist attraction occurred sometime during Sunday night or early Monday morning. BLM is asking antiques dealers, pawn shops and the public to keep a look out for the register manufactured by the National Cash Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio.

The Granite County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Garnet Ghost Town is a former gold mining town about 35 miles east of Missoula. It is now publicly owned and managed by the BLM.
