MISSOULA - Administrators at Missoula International Airport plan to start building a new control tower as early as this spring.

Airport Director Cris Jensen says the Federal Aviation Administration approved about $6.7 million in funding for the tower, and that allows the airport to start the design process.

The airport's current tower is 61 feet tall and was built in the early 1960s; Jensen says the new tower will likely be about 120 feet tall.
