Bull moose poached on Rocky Mountain Front

By The Associated Press

GREAT FALLS - State wildlife officials are asking for help in finding whoever shot a bull moose west of Choteau and left the carcass to waste.

Rod Duty, game warden for the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, says the moose was probably shot between Nov. 12 and 14 along the Teton River in the Lewis and Clark National Forest. The shooting took place about a half mile downstream from the Elko campground.

Duty says the bull moose had antlers that measured 30 inches wide. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call 1-800-TIPMONT. Callers may remain anonymous and rewards are available.
