MISSOULA - Missoula County authorities have identified the 34-year-old man who died after being hit by a car while he crossed a Missoula highway.

Sheriff's Capt. Greg Hintz says Shane Allen Ewing of Lame Deer died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday of head injuries suffered in the collision, which happened at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Police Sgt. Travis Welsh says Ewing was crossing the highway against a red light when he was struck by a car. Welsh says the crash is still being investigated, but there is nothing to suggest the 19-year-old driver was speeding or driving recklessly.
