Montana woman killed in motorcycle crash

By The Associated Press

MISSOULA - Montana Highway Patrol officials say a woman is dead after a crash on Highway 93.

Patrolman Shad Andersen says the collision happened Sunday afternoon, when a wheel came off a single axle trailer that was being pulled by a Ford Explorer. Andersen says the tire went into another lane, hitting a Volvo sport utility vehicle and causing it to slide sideways. He says a motorcycle driven by a Missoula woman collided with the passenger side of the sport utility vehicle.

The motorcycle driver wasn't wearing a helmet. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
