Carroll Football Awaits Their First Game

After not playing last weekend, Carroll College is just a couple days away from beginning their conference play, and as the Saints come into the season, one thing you can expect-is some new faces.

“We’ve got a pretty good idea that Jordan Pine, I think is going to be a heck of a running back, and also the receivers led by Anthony Clarke, who just transferred from Boise State, and looking at Drew Clausen and Trey Infanger. Those young receivers are coming along pretty good,” Says Carroll head coach Mike Van Diest.

This weekend Carroll is on the road taking on a Rocky Squad, that even before their win this weekend over Dickinson State, had the utmost respect from the Saints players.

“They have a very talented quarterback, wideouts, and their defense speaks for itself. I know they have a lot of returners on defense, and they played us real close both games last year. I know they are hungry to play us again, and really get that going, but as far as talent, there’s not a better team in the nation when it comes to Rocky,” Says Carroll Junior Running-back Chance Demarais.

This isn’t the first time Carroll had to sit out their first week of play. They just hope to get everyone in as many game-like situations as possible

“We’ve been here before. For us to have a good week of practice, we’ve got to simulate some things speed-wise, so we can get a game like situation under our belt,” Says Van Diest.
