Cats edge Southern Utah

By KFBB Sports_Team

The Montana State Bobcats needed some last second heroics to escape with a 7-3 win over Southern Utah.

For the second straight week the Montana State offense appeared to be stuck in neutral. The Cats only score came on a 6 yard touchdown run by Aaron Mason early in the second quarter. MSU struggled with only 219 yards of total offense, but they again were not the story.

The defense played wonderfully and got big plays when they needed them most. Late in the fourth quarter Southern Utah went 73 yards in 7 plays and with less than a minute to go went for the endzone. Senior Kory Austin reached up and intercepted the pass putting to rest any rally.

The Cats allowed only 92 yards rushing to 226 in the air.

Montana State returns to Big Sky Conference play next weekend on the road at Eastern Washington who nearly beat number 1 Montana this weekend. The game will be televised on Newschannel 5.

GF may double parking meter fees from 25 to 50 cents an hour. What do you think?

  • They need the money & I can afford it.
  • Another reason for me not to shop downtown.
  • A smaller increase will keep me shopping downtown.
  • Toss the meters, parking should be free.
