Cats lose 5th straight to EWU

By KFBB Sports_Team

The Montana State Bobcats suffered their first loss in Big Sky Conference play Saturday to Eastern Washington 35-13.

Cheney, Washington was about the last place Montana State wanted to begin their conference road schedule. The Cats had lost 4 straight to EWU before Saturdays game and hadn't won at Eastern since 1990.

MSU took the lead on a 60 yard pass from Jack Rolovich to Josh Lewis in the 2nd quarter making it 10-7, but from then on it was all Eagles.

They took a 14-10 lead to the locker-room and poured it on in the second half. EWU quarterback Matt Nichols was 15 of 24 for 257 yards and threw 3 touchdown passes, 2 of which were in the second half.

The Montana State offense sputtered, they had 3 turnovers and neither Jack Rolovich or Cory Carpenter could do a thing right.

The Cats are at home next week against winless Sacramento State. The game can be seen on Newchannel 5. Coverage begins at 1 with kickoff at 1:05pm.
