Stanford and Geyser to coop Football

Geyser, Stanford combine teams

GEYSER, Mont. (AP) - The school boards at Geyser and Stanford
have agreed to combine their football teams, starting in the fall.
The combined team will compete in the Southern division of
eight-man football.
Both central Montana schools are facing declining enrollments,
and the idea was considered a few years ago, but Geyser decided to
delay the merger for as long as possible.
The two schools have combined their junior high football
programs for the past two years.
The three-year agreement spells out how gate and concession
revenues will be split evenly, and says each school will provide
and pay for a bus and driver for two away games.
Each school also will have a coach, and the teams will take
turns wearing either Geyser's maroon and silver uniforms or
Stanford's red and black uniforms.
Homecoming will alternate between the two schools.
