Tech denying players transfer to other Frontier schools

By KFBB Sports_Team

BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Montana Tech is denying two former women's
basketball players' request to transfer to another Frontier
Conference school for their final season of eligibility.
Rebecca and Angela Gimeno of Spokane, Washington left the Tech
team at mid-season, but remained under scholarship during the
spring semester. Tech athletics director Joe McClafferty denied
their release until the league's new transfer rule.
Richard Gimeno then wrote to Tech chancellor Frank Gilmore
asking for his daughters to be released to play anywhere they
wished. The request was denied.
The sisters say they want to play close to their Spokane home
for their final season.
McClafferty says he wishes the Gimenos no ill will, and has
released them to play at three or four schools outside the Frontier
Conference.
But he says an in-conference transfer could give the other team
an advantage over Tech, and could lead to animosity when Tech plays
the team they transferred to.

GF may double parking meter fees from 25 to 50 cents an hour. What do you think?

  • They need the money & I can afford it.
  • Another reason for me not to shop downtown.
  • A smaller increase will keep me shopping downtown.
  • Toss the meters, parking should be free.
