Kimball, CCBL Weblog Day 27

The rain stayed north of us for the most part so we were able to get one in tonight against the Orleans Cardinals and we stayed undefeated at home. Orleans hung with us for most of the game but we pulled away late and won 11-5 to put our record at 5-2. Paul Applebee (UC-Riverside) started for us and he was very effective. Robbie Shields (Florida Southern) had 4 hits on the day and one was a home run. He is our only Division II guy on the team but I think he's our best position player. He usually hits second or third in our line-up and he plays a great shortstop. Mike Bianucci (Auburn) hit his 3rd home run of the season and it was a grand slam that broke open a close game. We have 3 or 4 guys on our team that may sign pro contracts before the end of the summer which could effect our line-up and pitching staff a little bit. Each guy has the option of going back to school next year so we'll see what happens here in the near future. We are on the road tomorrow and Nate Garcia (Santa Clara) is the scheduled starter. Tomorrow we also start our summer camps which go from 9am-noon.

GF may double parking meter fees from 25 to 50 cents an hour. What do you think?

  • They need the money & I can afford it.
  • Another reason for me not to shop downtown.
  • A smaller increase will keep me shopping downtown.
  • Toss the meters, parking should be free.
