Osprey Combine to Toss No-Hiter

By KFBB Sports_Team

HELENA, MONT. - After turning two triple plays in just four days, the 2008 Missoula Osprey continue to make history as Miles Reagan, Jesse Orosco, and Bryan Shaw combined to No-Hit the Helena Brewers for the second nine-inning no-hitter in Osprey history tonight. The three hurlers allowed just three Brewers to reach base two coming on walks, and one on a wild pitch dropped third strike. The Osprey (4-10) scored a one run in the top of the first and it held up as Missoula won the game 1-0.

Reagan, who doesn’t turn 18-years-old until November, pitched like the player that the Arizona Diamondbacks selected with their 7th round selection in the 2008 First-Year-Player Draft. Coming into Monday night’s game, Reagan was 0-1 with an 11.75 ERA and hadn’t made it into the third inning in either of his two starts.

Orosco (1-0) was perfect in his three innings of middle relief to collect his first professional win. Shaw walked a batter in the eighth, but the collegiate closer was otherwise perfect in recording his first professional save.

Centerfielder Ollie Linton led off the game with a single to left and moved to second on a botched pickoff attempt by Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Ritchie and then continued to third on a passed ball. Following a Reynaldo Navarro walk, first baseman Ryne White doubled to center plating the lone run of the game.

The Osprey slugged seven hits in the game including doubles by White, designated hitter Nelson Gomez and second baseman Jake Elmore.

The speedster Linton was caught stealing for the first time this year in the third inning.

Ritchie (0-1) picked up the loss for the Brewers (6-8).
