We dropped another close one tonight to Hyannis 4-3. There's just been a play or two in each of the last couple games that has come back to bite us. Tonight's game it seemed to be our baserunning. In the middle innings Jeff Kobernus (Cal-Berkley) lined a shot off the left-center wall with runners at first and second. The runner from 2nd scored easy but Coach Roberts held up the trail runner at 3rd base. Kobernus thought he was sending him so he started to head for 3rd and ended up being put out. We also have a couple key injuries. Robbie Shields (thumb) and Brett Jackson (thumb) have been out the past two games and they're our starting shortstop and centerfielder... and they also bat at the top of our line-up. It probably hasn't helped that we haven't really had an actual day off in awhile either. Monday we are playing our make-up game against Orleans... hopefully we can get back on the winning track. Mario Hollands (UC-Santa Barbara) is scheduled to pitch for us.
