"The Purge" producer Jason Blum tweeted a sequel to this week's number one movie is already in the works. The $3 million suspense thriller shocking the box office with a $34 million  opening.

At Monday's critics choice TV awards, former 'American Idol' executive producer Nigel Lythgoe talks about getting axed from the show.

Lythgoe says:  "... I'm rather saddened by the whole thing, we created the results show, which every other reality show does, it feels really sad to be asked to leave."

Mumford and Sons postponing concerts because their bassist, Ted Dwane, has a blood clot on his brain that requires surgery. The band is being told it will be a quick recovery.    

The first trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" is out, giving fans a peak into the second film in the trilogy. The movie opens December 13th.

And 30-year-old Grammy-winner Leann Rimes has been in the headlines a lo* the last few years and not for her music.  She's been a tabloid staple following her highly publicized affair with now husband Eddie Cibrian. Now Leann is telling her side of the story on her personal new album called "Spitfire." As for the drama she says she hopes it will start to calm down and Rimes has a lot of work to keep her busy. The new album is out and she has several TV projects in the works.
