Man Charged with 6th DUI

With DUI's being a heavy target for Montana Law Enforcement Officials, a local Great Falls man making headlines Tuesday when he was pulled over and is now being charged for his 6th DUI.  That man making his initial appearance in court Wednesday.

John Malone of Great Falls has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.  Yesterday afternoon GFPD was sent to 4th Avenue Southwest in Great Falls to investigate a driver involved collision.

According to court documents the accident investigator noting that Malone had the odor of alcohol coming from his breath and that his eyes were bloodshot and glossy.

Documents also state Malone performing poorly on field sobriety maneuvers and showing many signs of impairment.  Malone's breath sample showing a result almost four times the legal limit of .319, and he later sampled .289 at the detention center.

Malone has five previous DUI convictions with the most recent coming back in 2000 and the first coming in 1985.  He also has a previous felony for selling dangerous drugs back in 1976.

Bond was set at $10,000 and if out he will be on active alcohol monitoring.
