New research suggests that stricter controls on the sale of cigarettes to young adults may reduce adult smoking.          

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 88% of adult smokers who smoke daily say they started smoking by the age of 18 years.     

What should we be doing as a nation to prevent young adults from becoming life-long smokers, with one in five deaths in the U.S. caused by cigarette smoking, each year?
