McKeag Appears on Weapons Charge

A Great Falls man making an initial court appearance this afternoon after he allegedly pulled a gun on his ex-wife during an alleged altercation.

John McKeag faces a felony assault with a weapon charge after an alleged argument with his ex-wife at his residence early yesterday morning.

According to court and charging documents McKeag allegedly had threatened her by pointing a firearm in her direction after a reported verbal altercation.

Charging documents state that during the argument McKeag reportedly said he would shoot her and then himself.  John McKeag then allegedly pointed a .38 Revolver at his ex-wife forcing her to run in fear of her safety.

It was then that McKeag was arrested by Cascade County Sheriff's Deputies and now faces the felony assault with a weapon charge.

Bail was set at $25,000.
